Privacy Policy
RioSport · last updated 1 October 2026
RioSport shows football scores, fixtures and statistics. Everything except posting in match chats and making predictions works without an account, and we collect as little as possible.
What we store
- A random device ID, created by our server the first time you allow notifications. It is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID or phone number.
- Your push notification token (from Apple/Google via Firebase), so we can send alerts you asked for.
- Your device platform, app language and time zone, so alerts and match times are shown correctly.
- The teams, leagues and matches you follow, so we know which alerts to send.
Your follows, language and theme are also kept on your phone. If you never allow notifications, nothing above is sent to our server.
If you sign in (optional)
You can sign in with Apple or Google to sync your teams across phones, make predictions and chat. We then also store:
- Your account ID, email and name as provided by Apple or Google (Apple lets you hide your email), and the nickname you choose for leaderboards and chat.
- Your follows and alert choices, so they follow you to a new phone.
- Your score predictions and points, shown on leaderboards under your nickname.
- Your match chat messages, photos and reactions. Chats are public to everyone viewing that match and are deleted 7 days after posting. Photos are resized and their location and camera data removed before anyone sees them, and they are checked automatically for prohibited content (by Amazon Rekognition, which does not keep them). Messages you report, and users you block, are kept so we can act on reports.
Poll votes (Who will win, Man of the Match) are counted per install with a random ID, not linked to you.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives a crash report: device model, OS version, app version and the error. We use it only to fix bugs.
Advertising
RioSport is free and shows banner ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier, an approximate location based on your IP address, and information about the ads you see and tap. See how Google uses information from apps that use its services.
- iPhone: ads are only personalized if you choose "Allow" when iOS asks about tracking. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Google settings.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland: we ask for your consent first. You can change your choice in the app under Settings → Privacy choices.
What we don't do
- No contacts, no photos, no precise location. Accounts are optional.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share it except with the service providers listed below.
Service providers
- Amazon Web Services hosts our server (Singapore).
- Google Firebase delivers notifications and crash reports.
- Google AdMob serves ads.
- API-Football provides match data. We send them no information about you.
Keeping and deleting data
Device data is deleted automatically when a notification token stops working (for example after you uninstall the app). Turning off notifications or uninstalling stops all collection. If you signed in, Profile → Delete account deletes your account, predictions, chat messages and photos, and synced follows straight away. You can also ask for deletion at sulapyae12@gmail.com.
Children
RioSport is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
